Hobart Model 400 Tenderizer Problem
FOR TECH SUPPORT OR SALE'S CALL 1-772-999-2126
This is a solution for the Hobart Model 400 Tenderizer
The problem is that on the 400 Model They were not using the
Bronze Bushing on the front of the knife unit yet.
They have since started to use it on the Models 401 & 403 Tenderizers
so we have Photos on how we have been able fix this problem.
any suggestions would be sincerely appreciated
Here is the back unit as we get them ready for reconditioning
It is hard to see but their are no brass front bushing on the front.
Here is a better photo of the problem The drive blade shaft fits into the Carriage Assy. and after time it wears the drive shaft down causing the blades not to run even and then bumping into the combs

Here we have the drive shaft in the Lathe and will have to turn it down to the size to fit into the front Bronze bushing
We use the bushings that are standard for the Hobart Models 401 & 403 Tenderizer

After having Turned down the drive shaft we now have to turn a shoulder in the Bronze Bushing
so it will fit into the Carriage Holder.

Now that we have all of the components ready to go. We try our hand at resharpening
the old blades as you see it is back in the lathe going slow and we have a special file
we use to knock off any bumps and try and get an edge back on the Blades.

And here we are with the finished Product Notice the bronze bushing
On the front. The rear Bushing for the old Model 400 has a
Bronze Shaft that goes thru the back of the Carriage Holder
and fits into the Drive shaft not like the 401 & 404 were the
Bronze holder fits over the Retaining Nut
WE HAVE NO AFFILATION WITH HOBART CORP,BERKEL OR BIRO MANUFACTURING CO
